Loft Conversion

Loft Conversion

Loft conversions are one of the most popular forms of extending your home in the UK to create additional rooms.  The installation of a loft conversion is a complicated process and involves a large amount of work and submitting planning permission.

We can help plan, design, and implement your loft conversion based on your requirements and budget. The entire build process is managed by our team of specialists; from initial planning, architectural designs, structural reinforcement to internal plumbing, electrical work, plastering and installing windows. You simply choose which loft conversion that best suits your needs, and we will maximise every inch of the loft to create your dream space. Our experts will ensure the loft has sufficient natural light with easy access using a custom-built staircase. We can also provide additional services such as underfloor heating, en-suite bathrooms or built-in wardrobes.

There are five main types of loft conversion we offer:

Roof Velux/Light Loft Conversion:

Roof Velux or Light conversions are often an attractive option for homeowners due to their ability to fit into the line of the roof providing your loft has sufficient space. The design of Velux loft conversion is easily fitted as only one of the present rafters is clipped out for each window. This type of conversion avoids any restructuring of the roof itself. The installation of such windows will provide the loft space with substantial light.

Dormer Conversion

A dormer conversion is a window-featured extension of the roof and provides more space and headroom within the loft as well as providing improved staircase access. The dormer conversion is constructed in a way that it projects from the plane of a sloping roof.

Hip-to-Gable Conversion

The hip-to-gable loft conversion is the most innovative way to maximize small spaces. This conversion requires planning permission as it means structural alterations to the roof. The roof size is increased to allow more headroom by extending the roof’s ridgeline from its existing hips to the end of the vertical wall and altering the side of the house that’s into a flat end gable.

Mansard Conversion

Mansard conversion is constructed by raising the roof’s sloping side to an almost vertical side. The mansard loft extension is a more appealing option to the dormer conversion as it gives the house a better look.

L-Shaped Conversion

This type of conversion can only be done on Edwardian or Victorian type of houses as new builds do not have the structural design to support this type of conversion. L-shaped conversions involve creating two dormers where one is built into the main roof and the other is built on an existing rear extension of the house. L-shaped dormer offers multiple rooms with en-suite opportunities as well as additional headroom space.
